You keep the calendar and notice who needs what before they say it. Your own stuff has been on the list for a while.
Haven is a virtual, private-pay practice for women in midlife who are ready to put some of that down.
We work with parenting, partnership, work, caregiving, burnout, grief, and changes in your body. Your doctor should weigh in on symptoms, including perimenopause and menopause, and we help with the rest.
Our work centers Black women’s experiences, and women of every background are welcome.
Therapy is open in Georgia, Oklahoma, and Michigan, and coaching is available in every state. See where we practice.
Meet Dr. Carla
I started Haven during COVID, when marginalized communities still needed care and the care had to flex with everything the pandemic changed. Black women and relationships are carrying so much, socially, politically, and emotionally. I wanted a place where the messy parts are welcome.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker and marriage and family therapist, with a PhD from the University of Georgia and about 20 years in practice. I run Haven and see clients here.
Midlife asks a lot of us: kids, partners, work, parents, and a body that’s changing. I carry a lot too. I have a demanding day job, I own a business, and I’m a wife and a mother. You deserve a space that gives something back.
